Need Guardian access through app

I have been trying to figure out how to use google classroom as a parent/guardian for the past year. More so this past month with the new school year. Teachers are not all on the same page as to how it works. I went to an informed coworker and received more insight. I later heard more info that teachers can choose the amount of access guardians get. So, I dont know what Im supposed to be receiving or viewing because it sounds like each teacher can have different options. I dont think the teachers are well informed on the product as well in order to disseminate the proper instructions to parents. The app should have a tutorial as well that instructs parents as well as students.
